S38b38 nice !! Is it a Zoner ?
How many swaps have you got lined up mate ? May be you could have a new career if it takes off ?
i have had a few pm's about engine swaps, but i dont think there would be enough of them to do to earn a living from them, still, it's a bit of pocket money for a hobby!
the S38B38 is for a zoner, but he's asked me not to reveal who it is, yet.

Fuzzy i was just about to ask the same question as you mate. All this Y5UMA engine and S38B38 is way past my head
Is it going in another tourer? Im asking cause the tourer seems to be the weapon of choice at the moment for every engine conversion
Mybe one day when i win the lottery i will come to you for a conversion Glenn. I've always fancied a V500 (What ever the fcuk that is. It sounds good) conversion in my car

I'd love to see the look on Ferarri drivers faces when you leave them at the lights in a tourer
I'm done with spending money on my car now. I just want to finish the Msport, then i'm retiring from the modding game. Besides i've had 2 full features and a few awards, plus countless pics of the car in different mags so i'm done with the Rieger now. Time to pick up ladies for special sucky, sucky in the summer

i'll run a build thread on it,
but the identity of the car will be hidden until it's finished.
that's how the owner want's it.

my mate just had them set up with Mk2 escort 1700 carbs and my other mates has just hadhis xe powered chavette set up on r1 bike carbs by the bogg brothers.. legends! I cant believe someone is actually putting a v12 on carbs... thats just silly
p.s. the v12 looks good in the tourer bonnet, absolutly snug as a bug in a rug. almost looks like the batywas designed to fit the engine from day 1!

That engine does look very snug in the tourer.
Glenn i cant wait to see pics o the 3.8 conversion. If it's anything like Dip's car then it will look awsome. What's the bhp on that baby? I want to cry now cause i want an engine conversion, but no one wants my booty
Hmmm. Dip's seems to be loaded. I wonder if he fancies adopting me

surely the 3.8 e34 conversion is a bit beneath you glenn, that isnt much of a challenge after the v12
why the secrecy on the owner though, youd think he or she would want to brag all about it

I thought it was closer to 380bhp or is that the official figures? I guess with time you lose a few ponies as well. Still 350bhp in a E30 will be a monster
Lucky sod whoever it is and i bloody hate you

each conversion has it's challenges, if the S38 was easy, karan would be running around in his by now. i dont think there's a specific big problem, just lots of little ones that each need thinking about and then coming up with a solution, usually by spending lots of moneyfuzzy wrote:surely the 3.8 e34 conversion is a bit beneath you glenn, that isnt much of a challenge after the v12why the secrecy on the owner though, youd think he or she would want to brag all about it
but we prefer to break out the fags and coffee and come up with a solution that doesn't require a bank loan.the owner wants their identity to be kept a secret for a while because they want the comments on the thread to be truthful to the conversion and if the owner was known, the comments may be a little biased

Next time you see the owner Glenn kindly ask if he wants to adopt me. I dont eat much and i can do all the crap jobs for him that he cant be bothered to do himself like take care of his missus between the sheets and boring crap like that

i suppose any engine conversion will have its problems,i know mine did,but each one will have its own specific irritations, nothing cant be overcome with a cup of tea and some biscuits to ponder over.i cant imagine anyone with anything other than truthful unbiased comments on such an engine conversion,it will surely go down well regardless of who its for

goddamn that's tight!!!
glenn, slightly off topic... do you reckon fitting a V12 to a E34 would be relatively straightforward? i've pulled a E32 735i apart for my M30 conversion and noticed how similar everything is to my wifes E34 525i sport and i now have an urge to try for a E34 550i sport, using a E32 750i donor...

'all done and dusted'
loaded the 750il and the tourer onto the truck today.
it's all going home tomorrow.
goddam v12 ran out of petrol when we were putting on the truck so i've got to shove a tenner in that on the way back to london aswell!
a tenner should just about get it off the truck and into dips garage
it's been an enjoyable project, a few problems along the way, but another one to put on the c.v.
and dips has been a pleasure to work with.
