E30 interior retrofit (seats)

Does anyone know if any other model seats fit into an e30 eg e36 e46 or even five series?

i ask this question because e30 seats are so expensive for leather, you can get other models very cheap.

think im only going for front seats and stripping the back out.

E36 seats fit on the front studs but need holes drilling in the floor for the back mountings. Electric heated E36 leather would be quite cool.

Someone told me in a PM a while ago that E46 seats fit in easier than E36. No idea if it's true or not.

sounds like it wont be too hard then really.

if e36 seats fit on the front i could cut off the bolts on the back and weld them back on in the required place i suppose.

might have a look at that sounds like fun!!

Plenty have E36 seats. Came across an E30 in the scrappys two weeks ago with E36 seats, but forgot to see how it was done.

When i fitted e36 leathers into my cab the rear holes match after removing a rubber gromit, up but the front two didn't

It is a bitch of a job but they do look the nuts.

What did you have to do then mate? did you modify the seats or the floor pan?
