Ignitition switch

Any help would be gratefully appreciated,trying to get ignition switch off to renew.Have unplugged all electrics on it,but cant get swith to come of steering column.Followed Haynes manual to the thr letter,but no joy.Please help cos very soon its going to be hammertime.

insert the ignition key and turn the barrel roughly half way.
on the underside there is a small hole

what you need to do is.. get a solid peice of metal (jewllers screwdriver) that will go into the hole now push like mad and twiddle the key until you feel the tool you have used go in about 4-5mm now pull on the key while keeping the tool in the hole and pressure on it the barrel should come out it requires quite a bit of force to push the button in and pull the barrel out

Thanks for that Bob,managed to get it off and put it back together.Now have another problem,i have one brown and yellow wire with connector on but cant see any where its supposed to go though i vaugeley remember taking it off.Any ideas.

Panic over, found connection,mind you had to take it all apart again.
Must learn to work more methodically.
