hi guys
i have a 1986 E30 318i - this year the power steering was not factory fitted. Is it possible to have the power steering retro-fitted?
Any experience or advice would be greatly appreciated
cheers

I would think that you could go to a junker and get the brackets, pump, and rack...and just bolt on. If you get all new parts, all you would need then would be the brackets.....Hard to say though, as I have never done this mod.
But this holds true most of the time.....

i would bet any money that all the parts simply bolt on. these cars are good like that i just converter from auto to man and it all bolted straight in no real headaches at all. (well apart fromt he inhibitor switch wiring i hate electrics)

let me know if your serious about a conversion. as i have a used PAS rack, pump, and resevoire(sp) all from my '89 318i and i want rid of them. Offer may be rescinded at any time.

All bolt on parts. Don't forget the bolt on extra engine pulley and the steering link from rack to column.
