I installed a keyless entry system I bought off of ebay. I got the locks working. Now on to the parking light flashing option......
there is one wire coming from the keyless module to trigger the parking lights. There are supposed to be two seperate wires in the headlight switch harness to make the lights flash. A left and a right side. I am suppoed to hook the two resistors to the trigger wire from the module, then hook one resistor to one side, and the other resistor to the other side. I have done so and the lights do not flash. I was able to get both sides to come on with the prospective wire when I used a constant hot and touched to the pin manually. I know I have outpout from the module as that has been tested with a test light.
Is it possible not all cars need the resistors? I do not have an ohm meter...but my test light barely flickers when I test the wires after the resitors.....and it flashings really bright when I test before the resistors. Leading me to beielve that the resistors are not aloowing enough power to pass through.
any thoughts? has anyone done this with either a keyless entry or car alarm. I am sure this part of the wiring is the same for both.
does anyone have a wire diagram for the headlight switch? or maybe can look in their Bentley Manual......
thanking you in advance.......

it sounds like the wire going to the dome light should be going to the parking light

afters days of frustration........ I got resourcefull......
I called a different comapny that makes the same type keyless entry units. I did this because the company I bought mine from is not returning any emails.......
I just told them that I bought theirs, and they didn't ask any questions.....and since they are wired the same.....I was in like flint.......
turns out, I have this unit correctly installed. Which is a relief, as I have always pridedmyself on being able to figure things out......
However, they asked if the car had previously had an alarm installed. I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT THIS BEFORE. It does. and the previous owner must not have liked it, because allthat is left is the wire harness, and no control box.
Long story short, they think there is some kind of wiring problem from the old alarm install, or atleast that is what is causing the problems....
I have a 1993 E30 cabrio that is still a virgin.....atleast until I get a hold of it...... I will install my second unit in this car....... and see if it works, or I just have bum equipment......
I'll keep ya posted....
