Hi folks,
My oil warning light is pretty sensitive and comes on when the oil is just below halfway between the two marks on the dipstick. Is this normal? I don't have a problem with it but it does mean that I tend to keep the oil just below max (2-3mm below at the moment). Is having the oil so full going to cause problems?

If you are at or below the max line there can be no problem, unless you've
got the wrong dipstick somehow.

the wrong dipstick is an option, but also check the wire from the oil level sender at the front (bottom) of the engine-
quite often it gets damaged by belts or the fan, and can cause false readings.
sometimes on my car if the battery is removed it comes on when bat is refitted-quick wiggle of the wire (after checking the oil level!) solves it.

thanks guys. The dipstick has a plastic "bullet" shape. I've never asked anyone if I can see theirs.... it could sound dodgy!
