Okay, not that mad.....but check this.......

it's a 1993 E30 cabrio

I just pulled in the driveway after about a 20 min drive.......

I take the key out of the ignition and as I am getting out something catches my eye. My tach and my mpg gauge shott to about 2,000 RPMs and about 30 MPG. Keep in mind the car isnot running. It's just the gauges that are moving. They hold in position for about 30 seconds, then go back to the normal off positions. Then about 30 seconds later they move again. Hold for about 30 seconds, and back to normal. This happened about 4 times. Then it just stopped. I have never noticed this before, which doesn't say much because let's face it, who stares at their cluster after getting out of the car?

any ideas fellas?

Certainly shouldn't do that!
New one on me, but sounds like the kind of thing that could be caused by a leaking SI board battery.
However, I would have expected a 93 car to have lithium batteries on the SI, which don't give this kind of trouble.

The easy way to narrow down this problem is to bung a fresh cluster in and see what difference that makes.
