Hi Chaps. I don't know if anyone's come up with this before, but if they have - pardon the repitition!
If, like mine, your Touring has a "factory fitted" squeaky tailgate, try lubing the contact rubbers with WD40 or similar.
Yesterday while I was out all day delivering the Mothers Day flowers that bl***y squeak nearly sent me to the asylum! When I got back I was looking 'round the garage, a tin of WD caught my eye. Gave the rubbers a spray and hey presto, quiet tailgate again.
Simple but effective (and sane driver again!).
It also cleans black trim a treat (and works out cheaper than the trim-specific aerosols from Halfrauds).
Cheers
Stuart.

also, WD40 is excellent for removing the sticky crap left behind from stickers or anything else similar as it gets behind the glue and lifts it for easy removal.

no, its an alcohol based solvent that we use at work for degreasing.
here is a small nerdy bit from google
isopropyl alcohol, or 2-propanol (Ԛ´Ã”šÃ‚´sprԚ´pnl, Ԛ´Ã”šÃ‚´sprԚ´pl) (KEY) , (CH3)2CHOH, a colorless liquid that is miscible with water. It melts at -89Ԛ°C and boils at 82.3Ԛ°C. It is poisonous if taken internally. It is a major component of rubbing alcohols. Isopropanol is a secondary alcohol. It is one of the cheapest alcohols and has replaced ethanol for many uses because of its similar solvent properties. Isopropanol is made commercially by dissolving propylene gas in sulfuric acid and then hydrolyzing the sulfate ester that is formed; the propylene is a byproduct of petroleum refining. Isopropanol was formerly obtained largely by catalytic reduction of acetone; oxidation of isopropanol is now the major source of acetone.

johonno, yes mate, not a mark anywhere on the outside, all the suspension and wheels are straight and clean. everything was checked on a fourpost lift and all angles/alignmnet was checked with laser sights and it's all spot on. been very lucky to tell you the truth. i only went in slowly thankfully so there was no damage at all. got dropped off on thursady afternoon, i picked it up on friday lunchtime. been driving it since and everything feels normal
and all it cost was Ԛ£10 to get it checked.
cost more to get it towed out though.
