Since having my 325 Tourer Suprchipped I now manage around 170 miles per £40.... The car doesn't smell like it's running rich at all though.. Not good I guess ???

Also when I remove the fuel cap it makes one hell of a suction noise..

I've owned plenty of other E30's and have never experienced this on the same scale.. Anything to worry about ??

Sounds bad to me. My 2.7 Tourer does about 300 miles for 50Litres of Shell Optimax. More on a proper run.

If the chip has not been properly mapped for your engine, all it will do is chuck more fuel in. Might be better with a Zone chip.

From memory Superchips are a "one size suits all" chip. The Unichip can be mapped properly.
Try a Zone chip to see if there is any difference, but if you want things to be as spot on as can be with your setup, then a fully mapped chipped setup on your car is the only option.

Maybe your tyres are underinflated (RAC advice) :D

No one's mentioned the suction in the fuel tank. This shouldn't be - the vent to atmosphere for the fuel tank is the 3rd fuel line that runs under the car (slightly different colour to the other two - often a sort of flakey brown/orange colour). This pipe ends in a 500mm rubber hose, the open end of which should be tucked into the reinforcing structure for the front left suspension turret.
Sounds like its blocked somewhere.

You'll get a few more miles for your money if you put in 95 unleaded, which is more than adequate for a 320.
We keep telling you lot that 320s have a drink problem, but you should be getting better than this.

There is nothing wrong with the chip as it what previously in TouringDaddy's motor and I nicked his whole ECU so I guessing that the mixture isn't set up correctly in my car ???

Stoney, 2things:

Where is Tourindaddy lately, has he moved?

And didnt you have his AFM too which indeed was setup to match his chip so you shouldnt be having a problem..

TBH m8 your getting on for a £1 a litre here now, for 20 quids i would get just over 100 miles if i drive sensible..
