Replaced the clutch in my 318is which i bought from Eko(very cheap :D ) who also helped me remove the engine and gearbox today. We had to remove both as they wouldn't spilt due to the mess that was the release bearing........

But thanks to our heroic effots the job is nearly finished! The engine/box is back in and running!!! altho a little on the loud side as the exhaust aint bolted up just the manifold. A few little bits in the AM and i'll have my shiny "is" on the road. WOOHOO!! BIG thanks to Eko, both for the help and the use of his driveway, again! MOre pics to follow when its clean and lowered.

Bloody hell, no balls left inside the bearing! lol
Mine rattled before I changed it but still looked like new. Did that not rattle like a bastard before you took it out?

With the engine running it wudnt go into gear just made Very horible grinding noises, but as Eko found out if ya put it in gear then started it it wud drive...Not much left of the friction plate when we got it out plus all the "fingers" were distorted due to heat and scored to fcuk. Still cud ave bin worse!

Good to hear irt's going to be back on the road again soon mate.
I've had problems with release bearings too, this is what the clutch on my flatmates citeron looked like after it went in Poole and we towed his boat back to newcastle with clutchless gearchanges! 3rd was never the same again!

It can be quite difficult some times with TXT's and emails too, when somthing is very funny, but it is lost as the people at the other end can't hear the tone of your voice if you know what I mean.
