Turbo all day long, if you build a stage one setup and get bored you can go for more boost later on with another bigger turbo.

try that trick with your newly swopped in 24V mill.

M50/52 are borderline once boosted IMHO due to the plastic inlet manifolding, I've seen a few cracked ones on N/A cars so longevity is a question..

cheapest option is build a cooking rover V8 and slam that under the hood.
or small block chevy, ford would work too but parts are more £Â£ than the generals

you can as a budget stage one i was good to go for under 800 to start with.but eventually you go the whole nine yards and murder people.lol no buy better parts.

ive seen a couple of kits on here in past months.
but as ive said twigg if you go this route its mainly a bits off this and that.plenty of support on here.top guys.

forced induction without a doubt....on which engine is another matter entirely.look at the bigger picture.at the moment you might think that 250+bhp is enough, but once your bored of that kick you WILL want more...and more winkeye

Definately FI! :)

If you get bored, (which you quickly will) you can always turn the wick up :D

The engines are cheap enough to be considered consumable and if you're well prepared, you could probably change one in a weekend.

Perhaps don't do what I did which is rebuild an early high comp 325i engine as it limits the amount of boost you can run, although I had almost 15psi for a while and it didn't seem to mind too much!

Wack it on the never never and bounce it around a few cards whilst your still getting 0% on balance transfers etc. Then id go small block chevy then bosh on a turbo, then shoe horn it in. Jobs a good'un!!

Its as simple as that...really it is!!

budget.

t3 from cosworth
flipped m20 or similar manifold with adapter
maybe a saab t16 intercooler -fit nice.
cooler tubing-could use mild steel.
rising rate fuel pressure reg.
bigger injectors.every one seems to use different.
feed and return to turbo-sump off job for return.
fab up a downpipe to m8 upto your exhaust.

bit of tweakin here and there .think thats it for a budget booster.
like the lads say ,you will get used to the gains acheived and will revise this setup, bigger turbo,i/c ,ms management etc...
