Had two adult passengers in the back seat on the way home from work today for the first time since i changed rims but also for the first time in a very long time - normal travel was fine but if there was major suspension travel due to the bad roads and weight there was what i can only decribe as a horrofic screaching squealing slightly grinding metal on metal sort of sound, scary stuff i tell you it sounded like the rear beam was folding in.
When i had the borbets with a wide offset they used to rub cos of the 35/35 suspension. so now i have bbs which are 15's and et24 so i dont think it was rubbing as i know tyhat sort of sound to well from before.
If you have any ideas i'd appreciate them, to be honest it sounded like the car was being crushed and scared the hell out of me...

no not exhaust maybe just maybe it was the clamps but i dont think so - sounded like the trailing arms were using metal bushes that had never been oiled and rusted like hell - will have to inspect.

Load boot, get someone to drive car while you sit in the back with the rear squab out, it may give you a better indication as to the source...

My 4dr hates passengers, keeps bottoming out and making creaking noises, just as well i rarely take anyone in the back.
