goes to show how well built the e30 is.just had mot on my sport, all it needed was a set of windscreen wipers.
the car is used everyday and done 146000 miles with full history.
not many models these days can boast that of same age.

Fantastic!

When I bought my 320i, that was 17 yrs old. Come MOT time, not a jot wrong.

unlike some! mine failed on headlamp adjustment (no suprises there), somehow my PAS pump is insecure? my exhaust has a "major" leak according to the computer, and both my front shocks are allegedly "loosing there damping affect"

F***!

Pas pump'll be a case of tightening the bracket or something - can't see how it'd be complicated or expensive.
A lot of places do headlight alignment for free on the MOT? Won't be a lot anyway...
Exhaust leak you can find yourself easily enough, & probably repair it too - if you hadn't noticed it was bad before it's probably an isolated problem - a clamp or joint somewhere...
Shocks are well worth replacing if they're shot - good excuse to do the TCA bushes etc while you're at it & you'll notice the difference...

Could be a lot worse! My old 320 was just rusted to death underneath! Current car's 19 years old though & needed nothing...
E30 in need of wiring loom smoke since April '11...

318-is, take it to another garage, 1st place I went to was saying brake pipes rotted and all that jazz, despite them being a year old and copper!

took it to a second place!

mine needed, handbrake adjusted and rear coil spring,

voila, 12 months MOT
