Mintex Pads - Good or Bad?

Any opinions on Mintex brake pads?

I have never used them on my own car but i hear very good things about them and have driven cars with them fitted, couldnt really fault them and the 320 will be treated to a set.

awsome i had them on my old sport M1155's there a bit hard on disks but there very good in everyway. Never faded, ok from cold, no more brake dust than standard

I had them on my CRX and they were great. That car stopped like nothing else Ive been in.

1144 are great road pads, and not too harsh on disks and pretty quiet.

1155 are AWESOME fast road / trackday pads, the level of friction is incredible and they dont fade until the disks are actually glowing but they are very aggressive on the disks themselves and are also quite noisey when used very lightly like driving around town etc.

Yup mintex are good value for money, but i would not over look Pagid.

Im not sure how true this is, but i have been told that pagid and mintex are the same company. Pagid just didnt take off in the uk.

I have used Pagid pads in the past and they are awesome.

First proper shakedown on the racer at the weekend, with 1155's on the front 1144's on the rear.

Was very please with the feel, and performance. No fade really throughout the day. heat up nice and quickly too

Personally for a road car i'd use a standard or another road pad, you'll be wasting your money on something like a Mintex etc

Plus on a higher spec pad, you need to get some heat in them before they are at their optimum, so driving down the road with a cold track pad is in my view stupid and dangerous.

I used to run pagid 42's on my exige and they were fine but used to scream when cold- PITA

Fair comment. I'd like to improve the braking performance on my car. When someone previously mentioned mintex road pads or fast road/track pads, was wondering if their road pads would offer any benefits to road drivers.

Pagid fast road pads are ideal for what you need to do.

Infact ive used them on track and they have held up very well! (but i this was during the winter and i dont think they will handle a track day during the summer)

Thanks, sounds like just the ticket!! Don't think my cab will get much track day action in the near future!!

I had 1144s on my race car and I really rated them. The car was only 720kg though - I guess you'd need 1155s on track for an e30?

As Demlot says, for a good compromise uprated road pad that will still work straight away the Pagid fast road is pretty good. I used them on my 325 Sport years ago and they coped fine with the odd track day too.

Why are these so cheap then, are they entry level shit ones? Ive asked him for the part number but no reply as yet.

yeah those are standard replacement spec, same as i fit at work.

for the money they are very good pads but after reading this my bm will be getting 1144's

m1155's are about £80 for the fronts so 1144's will be a good bit cheaper than this

Just a quickie, does a 1991 325i sport have wear indicators on the pads?
