Hello!

I was driving Gav's Touring (2.7) cos we were seeing which car was quicker, out of the Sport and the Touring, we were sitting in second, both booted it, went to change into third and it wouldn't come out of second.....

You can move the gearstick about in certain directions, slightly, but it won't come out of second. Got it up on the ramp, it connected at the gearstick end (the linkage) but we can't see the other end.

Any ideas what's up with it? :?

Oh that's good. I'm sure he'll be pleased. Can a gearbox be changed in-situ? :)

Check wanted section.

yes it can, remove zaust, prop, linkages heatshield, slave cyl
drop back of box, undo bolts, put new one on....

annoying job as some box/engine bolts are hard to get to!

Ok mate.

Some further investigation is going to happen tomorrow, I have posted a wanted for a box, so if it's needed, I'll be doing that next weekend no doubt.

Cheers mate.

Is the mounting behind the gearstick still in place ?
If it comes out it can have the same effect, normally caused after a shunt or possible loose engine mounts. Is the fan touching the rad ?
There is NO nucleus.
