Hi, Will the e30 m20 clutch slave cylinder fit the e34 m30 gearbox or will I have to buy a e34 slave?

I dont know the answer but Im sure somebody does!

But Im sure I read on here that you will need the slave from the gearbox your using!

You need the slave that goes with the gearbox. E30 is far to short. There are photos of the two on the other thread.

Just to confuse matters, I have used the slave from a 318 E36 on a 316 E30 before. And the clutch master cylinder innards can be put into the E30 master
Infact, im pretty sure all the E30's use the same slave cylinder
