Just been cleaning out the foot well on the IS and noticed theres a bolt that sits against the back of the pedal when its to the boards, the bolt can be screwed in and out.

If you want to wreck your throttle cable and linkage, then go ahead.
Throttle cable should be adjusted for a tiny bit of slack in the cable when fully closed, then the bolt in question is adjusted so that with the pedal fully down, the throttle butterfly is just short of fully open.
