Bit of a long story this, but basically when I built up my throttle bodies, I drilled one for a signal to things like the MAP sensor, boost gauge and FPR, and another one for the servo.

Whilst this worked, the needle on the gauge flitted about like crazy and the MAP signal of course did the same thing.

Anyway, the most boost the gauge was showing was just under 0.5 bar, but the needle was always waggling so this was probably more of an average than anything else, so last weekend I took the TBs apart and drilled the other 4 ports for signal lines so as to even the signal out for everything (servo included)

The last bit of worryment is that I only intended to run 7psi when I built the engine which is around 0.5bar and according to a quick calc should have given about 260bhp odd so I sized my injectors accordingly.

Was out for a drive after a boring day at the office today (yes I know it's a bank holiday!) and gave it a tickle on a bit of dual carriage way which was long, straight and had nobody else on it.

Turns out that instead of getting 0.5bar of boost, I'm getting fractionally under 1 forkin' bar!

Now I'm happy as long as the engine is, but based on the same calc, with 1 bar of boost, it should make over 340bhp and that's were my problems begin as the injectors are only good for 300bhp MAX!

Can anyone tell me where they got bigger injectors from, how much they were and how long they took to arrive as it's booked in to be mapped in 3 weeks! :o

Cheers!

Wicked, cheers guys :)

So it's 42lb injectors I need?

What on earth in terms of bhp/cyl do the lbs relate to though?

The injectors I've got are 214cc/min but I have no idea what that is in poundage :(

Aah, nothing like finding things out at the last minute is there

I really do wonder how much power it'll make now, still not been above 4500rpm and the acceleration's pretty vivid by that point (70mph in 3rd). Would be great to be able to leave the wastegates set as they are if the engine's willing to take it, it's nice to see the gauge swing a fair way around.

Also, there's a guy with a degree in motorsport engineering at work who doesn't reckon it'll make anywhere near 270bhp stating that "the air and it'll not mix and then when the spark goes off it'll.....not......<lots of head shaking>" so I'd absolutely love to wave a dyno plot under his nose which proves otherwise! :D

Aah freakin' sweet!

That's a very handy site indeed!

Bunged all the data based on 350bhp into the little spreadsheet thing and it comes out with 43.5lb/hr or 457cc/min

Cheers for the help guys

Gonna order some now and then cross my fingers that they turn up in time!
