Today was great. It was so nice to spend the day doing normal car things like cleaning and polishing instead of lying under the car with a spanner and about 1 inch of room above my head.

I drove around for miles trying to find somewhere nice to take a few pictures but everywhere was packed! In the end I just parked up on a quiet back road and took some. The old doll scrubs up ok! :D

Yeah its over 60mm I think but its too damn low. Speed bumps are a nightmare. Im waiting on a 35mm H&R Cup Kit which should make it better although I do agree it looks sweet like this.

It was funny as I even over heard old people saying how nice the car was as I drove through a park. Ive never had that before! lol

You car is sooo nice it looks like it's in mint condition. When you fit your 35mm springs do you want to sell your old ones winkeye

One of the rear springs snapped the bottom coil off which is another reason why Im getting them and the car sits a little too low at the back. :)

I painted the engine with some Wycotte or Mycotte ( cant remember) heat proof black paint and then sprayed a light coating of some Satin Black paint to give it a nicer shinier finish.
That was after spending ages sanding down the lines and BMW letters first to a nice finish and then masking them all off before spraying.

Looks very nice dude, ride height looks cool but like you say it can be a night mare for ground clearance when they are that low.

Is that an Alpina badge/sticker on the boot lid or just a reflection ?

Yeah it was a nightmare and my arms will sore as hell after probably an hours heavy sanding but it does look good now. :)

Yup thats an Alpina sticker on the boot. I nearly took it off the day I bought the car until I saw in the log book that the car has had the Alpina Sports Pack from the factory which apparently means different ECU, Cam and Exhaust.
Ive checked the ECU and it has Alpina on it and there are receipts for an Alpina exhaust a few years ago. Not sure what power it has but my mates Imprezza Turbo couldnt catch it through the gears. :)
The badge is staying now. lol :D

Cool, i wasn't sure as you could only just see it.

Bonus to have some Alpina goodies on your car !

What sort of power do you think its putting out ?

No idea what power it would have. Say a normal 325 has around 170 then add a cam, chip and different exhaust although the exhaust is alot like the standard one so I dont expect much of a gain from it.

check the bore size of the exhaust standard is about 44mm outside diameter. A proper pina system is bigger bore more like 50mm.

They were both made by boysen hence similar looks. If u have they are about the best non race system for an M20!

The bore size is either 46 or 48mm as I bought new clamps when I had it off to fit the engine. It sounds quiet on idle but has a nice roar when opened up. :)
