Yesterday we had a 1989 car in for fitting of a 318i chip which was bought from the zone shop, the owner wanted us to fit the chip and do before and after runs so he knew where the gains were.
Before the chip the car produced 112hp on a completely standard engine.
After the chip the car produced 118hp but the flat spot at 2400rpm was removed entirely.
Peak power was lowered 600rpm which gave the car a longer power range.

Enda.

Good info there Enda.

M40 chips have never been a big seller despite lots of peeps wanting them originally.

The reason I didn't buy one was because a couple of people said they couldn't feel the difference.

Must say I'm tempted now though :)

Is this chip compatible with the 316i M40 engine?

Might consider it.
