Does anybody know if you can just take off the end casing of the box to change the bearing, or do you have to strip the box from the other end. Im hoping i can leave the engine and box in situ and just remove the end casing. If not, i will have to lift it out and strip the box

Not much point stripping the box is there. You should be able to pick up a cheap replacement box for less than the cost of the bearing.

how many manual 535s or 735s do you see
can get em cheap if you're lucky, but as derek said 150 is about right.
Ritchie i'm not sure if output bearings often go on their own... maybe it's been run low on oil and the box is buggered?

Hi mate, i think that the box was low on oil. I bought and drove the donor car up from Blackpool and when i changed everything over and changed the fluids there was hardly ant oil came out of the box. It isnt rattly or grindy, it just whines for about a mile when its cold im assuming this is until the oil gets up to the end bearing.
I dont want to take it all out again
I was gona phone the stealer and see if they could fax me an exploded diagram, i think you might be able to remove the end casing but im just trying to get as much information as i can before i tackle it.
It feels like its one thing after another at the moment!
