Hopefully a very quick question to answer for someone that knows!!

The bulb that lights up the 3 sliders for the cabin interior fans and the fan control knob itself, has died? The ones on the centre console.

What's the easiest, least hassle way of replacing this bulb?

Thanks,

Beanie

from my experience the easiest way is to release the 2 top and 2 bottom screws holding the heater/radio panel, and ease the whole thing out. You'll see the bulb/holder just to the bottom right of the control knob.

pull out your hazard/demist and any other switches you have there. You will see 2 screws above 2 of these switches. For the bottom 2 you have to feel between the front of the centre console and the heater panel. There is a cross head screw on each side. It's a real pain in the ar*e! Maybe someone else has an easier method?

There are two bulbs that light up this area.
One is just below the clock.Easily reached by flipping the front surround off the clock, unclipping the clock and pulling it out forwards.
Second bulb is immediately behind the bottom of the fan switch, with it's holder angled to the right. Can just be reached by removing the panel above the driver's knees. Removing the switch blank plate to the left of the fan switch will give you a little window to see what you're doing.

to get to the heater speed setting bulb its easiest to take out your stereo and cage. Then look in from gap and to the left of the back of the switch there is two wires running in. pull them and the bulb holder will pop out. hey presto. this will also light up the sliders.
