Picked up a 318i touring at weekend as a run around until the Sports finished. Nice little motor, needs a couple bits and pieces doing but nothing major - all in all, Im happy with it. The one thing I didnt like was the 14" bottletops, but they were round and did the job.

Now for the good luck.

My Dad trailered home a fairly rusty and battered E30 on Monday night, which his boss had arranged to be scrapped for one of his customers - it was knackered. Luckily I saw it and rang my Dads boss to ask if I could have the wheels because they would fit my Sport and then I could get my 15" BBS's refurbed. He said "yeah fine, let me have £20 when I next see you"

Result - 4 15" BBS cross spokes (could also do with a refurb) with caps and nearly new tyres for £20 :D

Heres the touring after a little wash and polish...

I keep telling myself 'its only a run around', but Im finding it very hard to resist the temptation of dropping my Sport engine, box and LSD into it

Well done James its about time you had some good luck. I hope she sees you through till the completition of the beast. I bet its tempting to drop that 2.5 in there, but do that if the other one breaks, seems a shame otherwise to take out a perfectly good engine.

James, touring looks great!

is it a coincidence that its red too? winkeye

go for it, drop in the sport motor, it will be a piece of piss after the S50 conversion.

ps. do you live on a farm? seems like a load of grass in both pics! 8O

Cheers Jon, Im hoping things are starting to look up - possibility of a new job too, no more working nights :woohoo:

Normally Id agree with you, but thats exactly what I did with the Sport to fit the S50

I always said I would never buy a red car and then I bought the Sport. Then I said Id never buy another red car - oh well

Not a farm, just in the middle of no where - its the field behind my house.

I dont think the 1.8 will do much in terms of 'karan and dave mad'

Now the 2.5 on the other hand.....

I only got the touring to get me by but I may end up keeping it, so who knows what will happen :D
