Right, I'm just testing the water on this one coz I'm still pondering over the thought of calling it a day with the E30 and gettin something different nearer the end of the year. On the other hand, I did say to myself at one point I was going to turn my lowly 1.8 into something a bit more special, and wouldn't mind keeping my word.
Going to get the bodywork checked out. If its not too costly to bring up to a minty standard, then I may be tempted to get the work done and do something special in the engine bay.
However I do not have the time, tools nor knowledge really to do a conversion myself. Is there anyone here who isn't too far away from the North London area, and could give me a price to do the complete conversion to either a 2.7 or 3.5! This would literally be a case of handing over the keys and the car, then a period of time later handing over some cash for either a completed 2.7 or 3.5.
The running gear has been changed to iS running gear so has discs all round. Suspension is Bilstein Streetline shocks and springs but am aware this will not do. Other minor mods but essentially would require the full works. Ideally the person to do the job would also source the parts.
Looking for a quality job, by someone who has a decent amount of experience!
Offers please!
Thanks,
Nick

I'd suggest you PM Ant, he lives local and will be able to offer many different conversions/engine swaps/upgrades or even some forced induction!!
There is a m40 1.8 turbo about to be started so it's def possible.
(I have my garrett GT series from stage 1 sat in the garage too, just food for thought!)
Mark.

Insurance??!
Am 23 and by the end of May I'll have 4 years NCB.
Was thinkin if I went for a 2.7 I'd insure as a 2.5, as in the unfortunate case of an accident, they'd be hard pressed to figure otherwise, however a turbo is a bit more recognisable. Definitely a thought worth drooling over though.

The problem with a 1.8 is that the wiring loom and a lot of things are different to the 320's and 325's so it's not going to be a straight in and out job. Chat to Demlot as well. He has a wealth of knowledge and can also do the job
