The 325i I bought after looking for ages isn't the ideal project car I thought it was going to be and I've completely made up my mind that I'm going to get something else but I don't know what to go for, I think I've been got by the 6 cylinder bug, but I've seen a Sterling Silver (which could be my new favourite colour) 318is near me, I haven't had a close look yet and I suppose it wouldn't hurt just to go and have a look and see how I like the way it drives. I've thought about a 320i as they are a usually a bit cheaper to buy but I've heard that it drinks the same in fuel and I wouldn't say I'm a racer but I don't know if I'll miss the power of the 325i, Or should I just be patient and wait for another 325i (I'm not looking at Sports)
I probably need to be more patient but I so want to have a nice E30 to Love and Polish
I need some guidance!

i can only give you one piece of advise, that is take your time and dont buy the first thing you look at, go and look at 12 cars if need be or even more, if you worry about fuel then look for a 318is [4 pot] OR get the 325 [6 pot] if it is not a problem.

iS is quicker than a 320 yes for sure.
however the iS is more a of a revvy engine than the 325, and the 325 is faster than the iS obviously, but the iS wont be far bahind thats for sure
iS tends to have better mid corner balance than a 325 with more adjustability mid corner possible, due to the lighter engine.
325 sounds better though

We've currently got a 318iS in Lazer Blue and a 325 auto cab. And last year I sold, very stupidly, a very nice 325i 2dr manual... of course.
Now although the 318iS is great car I still prefer the 325i. Not quite so good in corners I know. But the extra horses does it for me. And the sound of the 6 cylinder engine is way better than the 318iSs 4 pot.
The 325i Cab is another great car to. Being an auto it's much more relaxed to drive than the manual. The 325i 2 dr cried out to be driven. And it was.
What's next, how about a 320iS...
BTW if anyone out there has F490 RJH the Lachs Silver 325i 2 dr manual, be nice to hear how you've got on.
