At least its a BMW though
Better than say..............a Lexus Soarer.......................
The Soarer is an engineering tour de force and it's surprising the car is only 3 years newer than the E30.
I went jap as I wanted something that wouldn't break down
But I'll be back with an E30 in due course tractor boy

TBH I was thinking about engine transplants today and found myself thinking why don't people who want to put jap angines (or ford engines for that matter) Just leave them in the car they started in .... like the one Lee bought!!!!
Toyota really isn't it??
Daz I'll probably be round 10ish in the moning with the PAS pump mate, don't think I can stop and watch either got a packed day planned.

Do you really not like the idea of cross transplants Dave?
Yeah it's a Toyota, sold as Toyota Soarer in Japan and as the Lexus SC400 in USA. It was the first Lexus, Lexus standing for Luxury EXport to United States. They are built like nuclear bunkers

I like the idea of putting silly engines in things. But to put a Jap 4 cyl turbo engine in would totally change the carachter of an E30 for me, and if the engine is that good just leave it in the other car!!
I'm 50:50 I like the idea but then I think of the work and think I would be better in a car that was designed to go really fast in the first place. If I'm gonna endu p spending £3k on a transplant then I would rather get an old porche 911 and play with that.
But as I say I'm 50 50 like clarkson my opinions change with the weather!
My mission now is to make my car sound so good it makes me smile everytime I start it.

If you're gonna stick a jap lump in an E30 then no nasty fragile 4 pot wrongness.
I figure a MK3 Supra Turbo can be had for £100 for a rusty shitter, the engine drops straight on the E30 mounts and the engine fits. 6pot sounds still, 230bhp & torque out of the box, more once the 2 cats are gone and then limitless tuning potential with an engine designed for forced induction. There is also the ijz 2.5 Twin turbo in the soarer and 2jz 3.0 tt from the MK4 Supra for big power. 500hp on standard internals not a problem.
The Skyline motor is a liability if tuned and is best avoided.

I'm not sure I'd even think about doing my engine conversion let alone actually start collecting bits n pieces for it if the zone wasn't available for backup and advice from all its knowledgable and thouroughly bloody nice blokes!
Big thanks to K10 who I met yesterday to buy a few bits off of at zone rates, many many thanks I'm chuffed to bits - I hope I will be able to meet many more zoners who I would add to this list in the future!
This places rocks, when it was down a few weeks back I was really bored when on the net - thezone is now my staple evenings read!

I was in a bit of a hurry so just had a quick chin wag with the misses. If I'd realised it was Tng21 I would have stayed, I thought it was just the scrap man coming for one!

I think by the time I got to the traffic lights I was in a dream of how to make the Cab chassis stiffer for when there's the V12 in it!!!
Now I think about it I do remember some beeping but I thought it was from the tit behind me getting impatient so I stonked it away from the lights.
