Right i've just had a quote for a Cat1 Clifford alarm with pager along with a Ipod adaptor all fitted for £550 cash. The bloke reckons it's a top deal. I know Halfords do the Ipod adptor fitted for £100, so really i'm getting the Clifford with a pager fitted for £450. Is that a good deal or is he ripping me off ?
Cheers

Yeah B, which Clifford alarm is it, i got the concept 600x, with the window close, in and outside sensor (good for when you park up and leave the roof down or the hard top off), glass smash sensor, back up battery, immobiliser and some other functions that i dont use, and when i get my car back
i will be adding the pager which means the alarm has set me back £650, so that sounds to me like a good price if the clifford you are getting has all the above functions, but i have heard that the Toad Ai606 has all the same functions and cost £150, not sure if this is true but if it is you can save some £Â£Ã‚£'s

Yeah pretty sure the Ai606 has all this, this is what I'm gonna have fitted in the next coupla weeks, cheapest price I've found is £230 including fitting. Pager is £70 extra though apparently the alarm siren is one if the loudest out there.bajandaan wrote:Yeah B, which Clifford alarm is it, i got the concept 600x, with the window close, in and outside sensor (good for when you park up and leave the roof down or the hard top off), glass smash sensor, back up battery, immobiliser and some other functions that i dont use, and when i get my car backi will be adding the pager which means the alarm has set me back £650, so that sounds to me like a good price if the clifford you are getting has all the above functions, but i have heard that the Toad Ai606 has all the same functions and cost £150, not sure if this is true but if it is you can save some £Â£Ã‚£'s
So Ben if your iPod adaptor is gonna cost £100 you're paying £150 too much for your alarm
While on the subject of alarms, what would happen to the factory immobiser that's turned off with the little key that looks like a headphone jack? Would the installers just disconnect this? Oh and is this factory immobiliser any good anyway?

I have the toad on the blue cab and it drove my neighbours mad by going off all the time. I turned the sensitivity down and it still went off with the slightest wind. The worst thing with the toad though is the window closure. it closes the bloody windows automatically whenever you kill your engine so that means if i go to a show i cant have my windows down. It's also bloody annoying when you stop to chat to someone and have to keep your engine running

i had a clifford 300, and in some places where theres interference, it wouldnt allow you to turn off immobiliser...
then no matter how good your car looks, u still look like a fool, or a thief.
i had to push the car down the road, and then it worked.... narrow beckenham high street
