Just picked her up and drove her home - 300 mile round trip (not without incident, but that's for another time).

It's luxury compared to my old 316 carb & I'd forgotten just how lovely the six pot sounds.

I'm a happy little bear. :D

So this is the one Sooty, looks mighty clean, 320? 325?. Anything Fuel Injected would be better than a BMW with a carb!!!
Looks damn good mate, now start scaring people by drifting in a touring, they all think it's a family car, then it goes sideways!

Photos can hide a multitude of sins m8 :)

1. Both front wings are rusty & need replacing.
2. Idle problem (think it may be coolant temp sensor).
3. Steering is a bit vague (possibly control arm bushes).
4. Exhaust blows a bit.
5. Diff whines (another one already being sorted out).

But what the hell!!! The price I paid, I don't expect a total minter but a bit of TLC & she'll be able to stand proudly alongside many others.

Already frightened one little girlie in an '03' Clio coming off a two lane roundabout on the way home.
She thought she could take 'the grey haired crumbly in the old banger' on the outside......
WRONG

It's a 325 Manual BTW

Ah yes breadbins old workhorse, the idle problem is wierd isn't it, suddenly revs up to 3k for a few secs then back down to normal idle again, very strange. It goes sideways nicely :D

Breadbin warned me about that before I left him but it hasn't happened to me yet.
It died on me as I went to get some petrol (ran out within 50 yds of the pumps :chuckle: so note to self....don't trust the fuel warning light) and 25 miles further on, the coolant light came on so I pulled over, topped it up and carried on.
Once I'd got the measure of the wooly handling, I took her up to just shy of a highly illegal speed (ahem  ) and she behaved herself.

As I said, a bit of fettling & TLC.......job's a good un' :D
