Changing it is easy, the sixe i can't help you on.
Firstly are you sure it's the slave that's knackered???? Is it leaking fluid?

If it is them you need to jack up the front of the car. Remove tha gearbox cover plate sump guard thingy (M20 engined cars) and then loosen off the rigid pipe and remove it from the cyl, them undo the 2 13mm nuts holding it in, and it will pop out. Replacement reverse of removal  then bleed the system.

yeah mate. Basicallly when I was driving along I put my foot down on the clutch pedal and nothing happened, The clutch was still engaged. Theres no burning or screaching so it cant be a bearing so thats the only thing it could be. I have driven it since but it seems a bit dodgey. There is a bit of oil running down the side of it. Does this sounds like it is the piston?

Well there are 2 pistons in the system, the slave and the master. In my experience if there is no clutch fluid leaking from underneath then it is the master cylinder. The 2 I have had to replace went gradually thoug, so that if I sat at the traffic lights with the clutch down and in 1st the car would gradually take off, like an automatic!! But there is no reason why it can't go suddenly. If the fluid level in the reservoir (I assume you have checked that!) is dropping I'd say it's the slave, if not it's the master. Both easy ish jobs though, and satisfyling when done!

i just replaced both the master and slave cylinders and it was a surprisingly easy job, nothing awkward or difficult involved.
