Im in a DIY mod mood lately.Im trying to get a nice clean look on my 318i-(Ill post some new pics tomorow with the lights on)
Ive so far painted the sills and valances white to match the body.
Sprayed the rear lights red (leaving the white reverse light)
Awaiting some clear side repeators (should come tommorow)
Black tinted the front indicator lenses to blend the front bumper in rather than having two big ugly orange things each side.
Debadged
What other mods are their that arnt that expsensive to do? Ive got an IS lip comming soon, i cant really think of much more apart from smoked headlights.
Anyone got any suggestions?
What else can i do to my car...

If your in the laurence Llwely-Bowen mood you could always colour code the door handles? But stay clear of the MDF

lol, i thought about colour coded handles.I might do a photoshop to see what it would look like, not sure if it would make things TOO white.

Nah it'll be alwhite! Get it! lol God I need a new joke book.
All depends on what your budget is fella. There a millions of bits and pieces on ebay you could get to enhance your baby.
I've bought quite a few bits despite not having an e30 yet! Only about 10 parts away and I'll have a full car!

detailing - it never ends and never stops inproving the car. what's yours like under the bonnet? there's not many under bonnets that don't benefit from polising....
have you done an induction kit yet? easy if you buy a kit and a bit more involved if you make something - especially if you go for a heatshield.
have you made some angel eyes?
add a switch to your electric aerial trigger wire so you don't have to have it up while listening to cds.
make up a hidden fuel pump cut off switch for extra security.
does absolutely everything on your motor work as it should?
visit scrappies for possible parts.
enough for you to be getting on with?

Yeh that sounds interesting mate, i was talking to my dad the other day about putting a cut off switch in the car as mine dosnt have an alarm. He got a freind to do one in his 56'Chevy and its hiden away, works great.Only thing is, would it be differnt on injection engines?

the electric aerial switch is well easy. i pulled a spare switch from a scrappy (hrw), blacked it and with a multi-meter figured which 2 tabs at the back would be switchable. then find the aerial trigger wire - white if memory serves - and cut it and fit each end of the cut to the switch. it lives above the stereo slot. nice touch. not used now however as i've deleted my electric aerial and hiiden one in my passengers side a-pillar...
as for an immobiliser switch i've not got round to it yet but i'd find the fuel pump wires and pull them in turn until the car doesn't start - i'm sure someone knows which colour wire it is to save this bit - and extend it to a switch in the cabin - probably inside the ashtray for me as i'm not a smoker any more.
alternatively a double foglight switch could be modded for both - one for immobilser and the other for aerial duties. it would be so subtle in the dash that a thief would probably not notice/figure it.

Does everybody's aerial stay up then when playing CD's?
Mines doesn't, wonder if somethings already been done to it.

have you seen a breyton front spoiler? they look better IMHO than an iS lip but both are nice.
Smoked hella's? now there's MrLee's very good DIY guide to doing it instead of Ԛ£300 like me!
Rear blind? just put mine in i love em.
A Big bore throttle body + zone chip might help spice up that 1.8 too
