There is a car on Ebay I want to try and buy,it runs out in an hour, can anyone help with the following?
Are there any differences between the steering rack, wheel hubs etc between 316/318/320/325 facelfit models?
I need to replace my rack and a front wheel bearing and i've found a complete front end set up from a 318 with all the bits and i want to know if i can do a straight swap job.
Cheers
Jesus

don't quote me 100% but i think the steering racks are the same, i would of thought the hubs and bearing are too. But just buy a new bearing Rog?
Is it the power steering or the rubber bush failing?

The power steering bushes have gone and it leaks fluid as quick as i can put in,so it's a new rack job.
The bearing, true I could just buy another, but the way i see it is if I can get a whole car for under a ton,i may as well do that and stock up on spares at the same time.
Plus, from a time/place point of view if i could just change the whole set up in one go,it would make life a bit simpler for me,rather then running about all over the place to get the bearing pressed etc.
I think your right about them being the same,i just wanted a second opinion before I bought anything.

like you say even that lot secondhand is over Ԛ£100. If your swopping the racks then you can get a reconditioning kit from BMW i think, not sure on price but then it will be pukka when it goes in!

Complete strut assemblies differ between 325 and lesser models. Struts on 325 are larger diameter. Can't remember if 320's are 325 size as well, otr the smaller ones.
Springs are different between 4 pot and 6 pot models.
Wheel bearings come in ABS and non Abs flavours.
