Mate your engine is crap. Just sell it to me and buy a 1.8 engine instead. I'll give you £200, a chicken and a goat. Take it or leave it

That other M5pilot guy is right!...LOL
200 BHP at well over 7400++rpm would not be a good result seeing as your engine should be 215bhp @ 6750rpm.
It also says the dyno might be reading low. The post also gives some advice and seems quite helpful and not a dig in anyway.
Your taking this a bit off topic arent you Mr Moderator? Trying to start trouble again are we?

well thats my point in a way, if my engine is meant to be 330BHP and its chipped also, is 310.5BHP a bad reading then, or is this down to my K&N filter and my crappy loud exhaust, M5 pilot i am not having a dig, because you have given me some good advice and pointed me in the right direction on the couple of times i have met up with you, i just dont like being laughed at or taken for a mug, its just me. When my car returns i just want to know its 100% all round, like someone said 300BHP is more than enough anyway

200 running at 14.7 AFR is good, the closed loop wont allow the 12.9 ish AFR required for the full monty , plus without the WOT switch functioning the ignition timing is less than optimal.200 BHP at well over 7400++rpm would not be a good result seeing as your engine should be 215bhp @ 6750rpm
lets keep this nice guys, 2 weeks of no zone , lets not celebrate its return with a slanging match
<moderator mode disabled>
Bajandaan, were there any comments about the fuelling, no AFR plot

Dyno's are all realative at the end of the day.
I've posted above my 3.6 figures (300) and I think demonbiker got 290bhp.
Stock should be 315bhp.
Your getting 310 which is 10BHP more than a very well running 3.6 so i think you should eb very very happy!
Chips dont tend to do anything for top end power on the S38 engines so I wouldnt expect any more power there.

"Your taking this a bit off topic arent you Mr Moderator? Trying to start trouble again are we?"
My point is exactly what your trying to make.

And the fact that my car has a stock ECU with no chip which means the engine will only revv to 7250 i dont see how it can be "200 BHP well over 7400++rpm" Im only going to take notice/talk to Experts who can read a Graph and turn it into a possitive.

Here is what I said in the orgional post (posted for you to read yet again)
"Also, are you sure your tacho is reading wrong? If you are getting 200bhp @ 7400++ I would be very disspointed"
Do I know its not got a chip?...nope
Do I even know what the stock rev limiter is set to?....nope because I dont know about S14 engines.
All I have said is that - "IF ITS MAKING 200BHP @ 7400++ I WOULD BE DISSAPOINTED"
The first word of the sentence is "IF".
It's not a dig, its just a comment. Why you brang this up is beyond me in this thread. All I can see is that your trying to stir problems again on the zone and now everyone is asking you to stop.

This has nothing to do with this thread.
A fresh 215bhp engine giving 200bhp with GroupN manifold is not good and me personally...I would be dissapointed. The thing is your dissapointed yourself and you've stated this in your thread so whats wrong with me saying I would be dissapointed?
BUT..... reading s14.net it seems you've cracked the problem. It would be nice to see it giving over the stock figure.

it does seem to be going off topic, M5pilot you have a good contact with this garage tell them i will be passing down on the next rolling road day special and be looking for a special price, if they are going to charge me VAT like last time, then a receipt will be needed, thats only fair, and i expect to watch the RR, if there is no hazards present, and i will try and get an original M5 air system and change my K&N to see if it does any better.

I spoke to them on your behalf.
They didnt just do a dyno on your car. They checked for fault codes on the ECU aswell. They found everything was working very well. They were very impressed with the power it put down.
They also found your instrument cluster still had the 4 cyl plug in it and hence why it was showing to be revs to be all wrong.
I think you did ok for £50 to be honest!
If you want an invoice it can be sent out to you.
As for the Airfilter - try to find out what Hartge used for an airbox and say goodbye to the K&N. You might also want to consider the exhaust side of things which may not be helping matters. Again, see what Hartge did.
Hope this sorts this out for you.

well the clocks have been changed now and read correct, i am thinking of installing a viper air flow system, as for the exhaust at present i love the sound to much, sounds like the devil, so until i can afford something better i will keep it, and the work being done on my car at present will make me happy once its back in my possession, for a long while

Viper setup is a waste of £Â£, still suffers the same failings as the cone you have now.... its surface area is too small, a huge ITG and a heatsheild would be a much better bet, but agreed the stock airbox should be located and refitted, not exactly falling over them @ the breakers though

Agreed,
Monster ITG would be the weapon of choice on this one. Would look alot nicer too.

i cant see any reason why they wouldnt let you watch unless they were up to no good, ive never been refused access to view and most garages (including mot) would have a viewing area,id go back to them for a chat, for all you know they could have printed out another customers dyno run and added your details to it,although i cant understand why they would. im at the other end of the country so have no knowledge of your garage.the £50 fee is an average charge in my experience.
