I was just wondering if any one has had problems with their zone chip.

I recently brought one from ant (zone shop) for my 1992-318i cab

I installed it but ever since it idles very bad from 200 rpm - 500rpm also the fuel consumption has gone up a lot. I went down to London and cost me Ԛ£50 in petrol not even my 330ci drinks that much.

So I put the old chip back in and it runs perfectly idles at 700rpm and getting around 34mpg. But all that torque that the zone chip gives has gone

I have sent ant a PM but he has not got back to me yet been over 3 dayÔš's (must be busy)

Sorry fella, my Pm inbox is constantly rammed

I assume you had the idle mixture tuned to suit the new chip ? thats the only bit I cant do, also, check for a lambda probe in the downpipe !

BTT this thread as and when required OK

I looked in to the idle mixture but for some reasons my afm dose not have any screws for adjusting I popped the little black plastic cover of but there was nothing there so I donÔš't know.

Any ideas

Thanks

sounds like you have the later M40 AFM with closed loop idle fuelling, thats the issue I think

Full car details and ECU part number please , and check for that lambda probe, chassis number would be ideal as well, email those though , ant@e30zone.co.uk, I'll keep the info safe and sound, I'd not want my details on show to 11000 strangers

I assume you ordered through the shop, I'll need your "real" name too so I can trace both ends.

Oh, and please can you shrink your avitar another 50%, its too big for the space fella

cheers

BTT again
