My 2.5 runs nicely, maybe a slight hesitation at low revs when cold but nothing serious. The strange thing is the smoke. It makes quite a lot of white smoke. It is still visible out of the back when up into 2/3rd gear sometimes. The car doesn't use any oil and seems to make average mpg judging by what others report on the zone...
Do I have a problem? and if so do you have any ideas for things I should check?
cheers,
Morat

Does it go away when the engine is warmed up nicely? My 320i used to smoke a bit on cold mornings but after 5 mins running it was nicely smoke free. Cars run richer when cold and there may be some condensation in the engine being evaporated.

If it doesn't disappear when warm, check if oil/coolant is mixing. If not...er, ask another zoner

Don't worry about how much oil it uses. How much water does it use?

The smoke is always there, more of it when cold tho.
I'll check for mayo in the morning - thanks!

well the oilcap is clean and the coolant is up to max (coolant was changed a month ago). I guess I'm just suffering from New Parent syndrome :)

Thanks for the help guys.
