On the way to the cambridge meet this weekend i washed the car and somehow the passengers side w/m glass had come out. i put it back but didn't stay there again for long. Are you supposed to put something in underneath it to push the platic bit that locks the glass in place round or what?
Also you wouldnt beleive a pheasant decided enough was enough and flew straight into the drivers wing mirror at 60 (luckly only just caught the mirror and nought else, phew) smashed the glass to pieces. How much can i expect to pay for a new bit of glass (ps i think it heated as there are two extra cables that plug into the glass itself.
cheers

If you look at the back of the mirror glass you will see a locking ring with a couple of serrations at the bottom. When the glass is in place, you use a flat blade screwdriver to rotate the locking ring, lcoking the glass in place. The blade of the screwdriver catches in one of the serrations. Not sure which direction to go, but you can easily verify this by looking at the locking ring before fitting the glass.

There's a hole in the underside of the mirror housing to put the screwdriver in.
