Where did you get those figures from?kam-325i wrote:320i is 1125Kg ( 1145Kg 4Dr)

I always thought the 325i was 1200kg 2dr, 1220kg 4dr and the manuals just confirmed it
320i is 1160kg 2dr, 1180kg 4dr
Auto adds another 20kg on top of that, and these weights are without special equipment, which adds even more weight
318is 1125kg
Cheers,
Robin

most e46's are around 1500kgs well the M3 is. So E36's must be somewhere between the 2 me thinks....

even the new ZM4 is 1500kgs! so it's a smaller looking M3 which has the same perforance

These figures are all for (early) E36 4-doors:
Unladen weight (ready for road, tank full, without optional extras):
316i 1130kg
318i 1145kg
320i 1270kg
325i 1295kg
Add 40kg for auto transmission for the 4-pots and 35kg for the 6-pots.

Curious, where are those figures from?
Evo magazine (so could well be wrong) lists the e36 m3 as 1515kg, and the e46 m3 as 1570kg

Zayyan's figures here sound about right. I was also quite surprised that the e36 doesn't weigh that much more, the facelift model is heavier though. I remember thats why its argued that the 1.9 m44 is no faster than the 1.8 m42 e36 318is, as the m44 one weighs 1335kgs iirc. I remember also being surprised at how heavy the m3 is, i believe the 1500 odd kgs figure is about right too.

Carfolio is way out then unless it is dry weight? Lists e30 320i as about 1040 kgs IIRC.
