You need to get someone that knows how to weld cast correctly. Dont just get someone who can weld with cast rods to do it, as it will crack again !!

or get a second hand one from the breakers, thats what i did, cost me Ԛ£12, lot easier than trying to weld cast.

To weld the manifold properly it needs to come off first. Cast iron has to be heated evenly before it can be welded with the correct rods then cooled as slowly as possible otherwise it will just crack again.

Reminds me of my strifes with trying to weld my E36 M's flexy joint on the ns manifold. Little too high, blew a hole clean in it lol. Ended up chopping the bloody thing out and welding a solid pipe in, that's what ML recomended me to try anyway, seemed to work.
But yeh, for all the trouble of trying to fix up the cast (never very succesful long term IMHO, get a S/H one, cast manifolds are cheap as chips because no one wants them.

Yeah the procedure is what iain said, but you may as well replace the manifold. When you do please use new studs and bolts, they are only about Ԛ£2 for the lot from the dealers. I happen to have an m20 manifold spare
