Info required regarding my E30 325i Alpina touring.
Hi I have just joined the Zone partly in order to get some more info on my car.
I have had it quite a while but the time has come for a make over but what is it?
Firstly the good bits it has a lot of Alpina parts inc body kit, 7" wide wheels on the front & 8" on the real, tubular manifold & system, cylinder head, LSD & Alpina steering wheel with full leather interior.
Not so good bits are the fact it is an Auto (which my wife loves) & from the badges & measurung the bore/stroke it is a 2.5 not 2.7.
The rebuild is going well Dave Iles of Griffin motorsport is rebuilding the head & I am working through the remainder.
I understand that Frank Sytner was the importer of Alpina parts & you could pick & choose your own spec. It would also seem that only the early cars had tubular manifolds as they were prone to cracking.
The only fly in the ointment is that it is on a Northern Irish registration, was that a ploy to make the plate non age related or does it originaly come from there (no indication on the log book).
This is one project of many but it is my wifes favourite so I am keen to complete it, any info would be very welcome. In particular info on ride height. It has standard Touring rear springs as they were the only ones available for an MOT fail a couple of years ago but I think it should be lower.
Sorry the post is sooo long.
Alpina Touring info please

sytner's were the only place outside of Buchloe who built alpina cars!
They don't now though, but back then they recieved all the parts and put them on the cars. All alpina's are bespoke so u never really see the same car twice. Not on older models like ours
My alpina 2.7 doesn't have a 6 branch, i think alpina cars were lowered by around 40mm

C2 2,5 Touring - cool cars!
I want a C2 2.7 Touring if I could ever find a decent one.
