Give the shell a good going over, they tend to crack in some nasty places, also, beware of the rust, as it can be terminal on these cars especially on the roof!e30m3lover wrote:sorry abit off topic but I have been offered an evo Integrale for Ԛ£6k. L reg, about 70k miles and rebuilt engine and new turbo about 5k ago. ALll bills and history too. It needs a respray though as its got abit of surface rust bubbling up. Is that good money you think?

Audi coupe s2, or a corrado vr6. Sod your T5 id have the Audi RS2 for an estate car, but for the same money as a E30 a 2.0 16v red top pre eco tec astra gte for the "oh may good this things going to kill me" factor. Always fancied a mk2 golf rally, as good looking as the lancia but does'nt rust as much, get hold of the motorsport g60 engine and you've got a quick car, or the other option would be a 1.8 20v turbo.

Ive had a G60 rallye but unless you get it remapped with the small pulley they dont really cut itmk1chopper wrote:Always fancied a mk2 golf rally, as good looking as the lancia but does'nt rust as much, get hold of the motorsport g60 engine and you've got a quick car, or the other option would be a 1.8 20v turbo.

Nothing that I can't tinker with!
Next car for me is an MGB GT chrome bumper needing a rebuild (H plate). Hmmm engine fun!
Another Capri TT 280? Perana?
Ford Falcon 2 door?
Dodge Charger RT Hemi
Datsun 240z
Skyline GTR- R32/ 33
Original Mini Cooper works
e36 M3 coupe (non evo)
e36 328i cabby
Robin Hood Kit car to my spec
E46 330cd
205 pug cti
205 pug cj
Mk1 Granada Coupe
Series A Manta
Transit (admit it you all would!)
RS500, actually, just a three door cossie would do
Oh lord there are so many more!

very open question, but if no e30's or bmw's allowed for sensible money it would be a proche 968 cs in riviera blue as a standard car ,for a modded motor a 2 door siera cossy packing 350/400 hp in white or 4wd jap ricer rocket, a daily driver would be a mk2 golf gti.
money no object, well as a summer hack a 330ci cabrio, range rover to smoke around in, and the toy would be a lambo gallardo in orange, plus a track/street car for fun which would be a cossy again maybe a scooby. plus a few more probably.

the title question in title sugest other wise, but if you read my post the first bit is for the same type of money !!! and money no object follows, the super cars follow,
however a 968 cs is very real i think, as is a 330ci

bless the old cav! can't fault 'em
same reason i keep a mondeo...the cars you don't give a shit about last the longest in my experience...cambelt's been loose for the last 3000 miles but fixing it would involve lifting the bonnet so naturally i can't be arsed

hmmn good question and yes it has been asked before but still: here's a couple that i would look out for:
a volvo p1800 - understated style. imagine in the pub - what do you drive? oh just an old volvo.....

and
same for the celica ra28....

i'd modify of course - but in keeping you understand.

Ive already made this choice - late model E34 M5 3.8 6 speed. Very very quick, excellent handling and phenominal brakes. has lots of toys to play with aswell.
I had considered the E39 M5 but running costs are extremely high and they arent as exciting to drive as an E34.

The CRD is a very good compromise but doesnt give the power of the white brothers!!! Granted it does comply with all the db limits at meetings but never had and issue with my white brothers.Chris-W wrote:Nice. Used to race one of these. You've made the right pipe choice, I see
