M40 Head Gasket Failure (Cause?)

I know on 6 cyl cars its usualy failure in the water jacket..

But what about the m40 ?

Can a quick skim and new gasket sort it out ?

If you put an aluminium head on an iron block then there will be movement every time the engine heats up and cools down, and the head gasket will eventually fail, so you could be lucky.
