as the title suggests.. dunno if its been on here before I own a vw and more on the dub forums , and this questions was raised and the E30 was a firm favourire with the dubbers. so for the same type of money that you have spent what would be another choice ??

I would like to put the Audi KV 5-pot in a MK2 Golf or a Scirocco, but I have gone jap recently and some interesting machinery then comes into the radar.

Ideally, sat along side the M3 in the garage!

I've always fancied an E34 M5 but I'm now waiting for the E39s to come into range
There are alot of cars I'd consider. Literally dozens.
Ultimately, something interesing and RWD.

Corrado VR6, just for the noise and the fact that nothing else on the road looks remotely similar to them.
Possibly a E30 320is, very understated.

later model E34 M5, power and luxury
merc 190E 2.5 16V
E32 750iL
300ZX twin turbo
older caterham/lotus 7
all must be getting fairly cheap in price by now
but really wouldn't mind one of these....

If the E30 didnt exist all together id have probably gone for a mk1 Toyota MR2 (came close to buying one anyway!) or a mk2 Golf GTi, not sure about 8v or 16vs tho.
Mind you, my current car ive deemed as a good replacement

Most likely an Impreza, that and the sport are the only cars i dont mind heavy insurance on, but failing that then a Peugeot 106 S2 Rallye.

In place of the M3 possibly a Lancia delta Inegrale Evo II or Audi Quattro 20v
The 325i sport I would replace with a Ford Escort MKII RS 2000

hmm, I spent Ԛ£300 on my e30, so i'm kinda limited...bigrimz wrote:as the title suggests.. dunno if its been on here before I own a vw and more on the dub forums , and this questions was raised and the E30 was a firm favourire with the dubbers. so for the same type of money that you have spent what would be another choice ??
Ԛ£188 bought me an e34 535i and Ԛ£100 bought me an e32 735i, so thats not too bad.
for Ԛ£300 i'd probably buy a skudder of a "valver nova" as they are scary as feck.
maybe a 190e merc.
or a humped mk2 golf gti 8v small bumper in black.

sorry abit off topic but I have been offered an evo Integrale for Ԛ£6k. L reg, about 70k miles and rebuilt engine and new turbo about 5k ago. ALll bills and history too. It needs a respray though as its got abit of surface rust bubbling up. Is that good money you think?

If I had to buy something for about the same money as an E30, I'd go for an original Mercedes 190 Cosworth - understated (if it's not been tarted up) and got to be a future collectable.
