Help urgently needed please..

When I bought my 325 Tourer it was absolutely pucker.. Took it up to see Wayne and the car developed a misfire after I'd driven for around 150 miles..

It seemed only to be firing on 3 or 4 cylinders... Anyways I had the rotor, cap, leads etc replaced and the misfire went away...

I then popped up to see Artis and guess what... After about 150 miles the exact same misfire is back...

I dont mind spending a little bit of cash on my car but I really dont want to have to fork out for new leads etc everytime I take it on a journey of 150 miles..

Any ideas folks ???

You say it misfires on a long journey, so if you get there, then leave the car, is the misfire gone when you start it up again or do you have to fiddle to get rid of it? When the AFM packed up on my M42 it had misfire symptoms. You could try ignition leads, DME relay, fuel pump and relay, inlet manifold leaks, valve clearances too tight (M20) the list is unfortunayely fairly endless, but you should be able to narrow it down a bit depending on your specific symptoms.

The misfire wont go if left for a while... It sometimes will go when just driving down the road after kangarooing for a short period.. When we replace the leads etc the misfire went straight away but has now come back.. I'm sure replacing everything again will cure it but I cant afford to keep doing that.

Deffo seems fuel or electrical to me but I'm no mechanic.. lol..
