I am not worried about the power on the m3 as i dont drive like a mad man :D
I just wanted to know how the 2 cars measured up.

Anyway it all depends on how i get on selling my MOTORSPORT if its meant to be then so be it if not i still have a great car

M3 looks nice, if your decision to change is purely based upon the looks then the M3 wins, go for it.
If it wasn't for the dogleg and LHD i'd have one, be a bit much for missus though.

You know you're going to miss that straight six sound when you open it up.

Well I agree with Evostormm 100%.

I wouldn't buy a convertible M3. Especially as you own a Motorsport Ryan.

I would however buy a jonny/Evo M3. In Macau especially.

The car I want, and would break the bank for is a Macau Masterclass, owned by a care and detail zoner.

Dont bother Ryan, you greedy man. Keep the Motorsport.

I have a 325ic with 107,000 miles and an M3C with 7,000 miles.
It's kinda like having a beautifull wife and a sexy mistress.
They are very different cars to drive. I absolutely love driving the M3C, but only do so in the very best weather as it's in concourse condition.
A friend has a tin-top M3, and unless you are planning track it, the differences are undetectable on the street.

Cheers,
Jim

I have also owned both , the M3 cab is a very rare special car,the 325 motorsport is an ordinary 325 cab with a nice interior,no contest .

Jimb is that correct that your M3 has only 7k miles? winkeye Must be one special car if it is

Palerider i think it all comes down to what you want from a car. I've had both convertible M3 cabs & the tin top version. I'm not a speed freak so i guess i never noticed the difference, so if you're like me then like i said in the other thread, just buy whatever tugs at your heartstrings and of course your pocket. I sort of get the feeling you're doing this cause you want to own the car at the top of the E30 food chain, but it's not always best to go and buy the so called best if it's not what you need

Small example, i like nice shoes and have a lot of Gucci shoes. each pair cost hundreds of Ԛ£'s, but cause they are leather sole'd everytime it rains my bloody socks get soaked and everytime there is a kick off in the club it's like skating on ice lol. Now i could easily buy rubber soled shows for a fraction of the cost that wont take in water and would give me plenty of grip when i needed. I guess my point is if you're going to do this then do it for the right reasons and not cos it seems like a good idea

Jim, I think you would find that our poor quality UK roads show up a clear detectable difference between the saloon and the tin-top.

Don't get me wrong though, the convertible is still a very nice car and now, over here at least, something of a bargain. Also, being a convertible, they're somewhat more noisy than the saloon. This could be an advantage or disadvantage depending on your point of view; music on A and B roads with the four pot snarling away, less so enjoyable when on a long motorway journey.

HI guys,
I'm something like 9 hours behind you so often I'm sleeping while you guys are posting.
Thanks for the compliments on the car.
To me it's more of a wuestion of do you want a convertible or tin-top as opposed to which M3 is better. I very rarely have the radio on when I'm out in the M3c because I love the sound of the engine...especially because you have an excuse to rev the heck out of it. I've driven the roads of Britain, and I know what you mean. I admit though that I really enjoy driving the countryside. But I think because I love driving that I also enjoy the uniqueness of the E30 M3. It is absolutely amazing!! and, top down is better than sex with a stranger.
Over here mine is the only know Cabrio in the country so the value is definately secure. I can't believe the low cost over there. However, wherever you are, I would expect the value ot only go up now as long as you take care of it....and don't go crazy with the mods.
Cheers,
Jim

You'll REALLY enjoy the M3 with the dogleg... a long first and tightly-spaced higher gears make it an absolute BLAST to drive, and it's easy to stay in the power range with that setup. Once you go M3, you NEVER go back!

1990 NOGARO SILVER.
HALF HEATED LEATHER SEATS.
EVO 2 WITH CAT 215BHP.
88 ON THE CLOCK.
99% SERVICE HISTORY WITH ALL THE OLD MOTS.
NEVER BEEN MESSED WITH.

I thought it would have had a MOTORSPORT type interior [all leather] but it seems to be just basic e30 vinyl is this correct.
I have been told by loads of people to drive the car first as its not what it seems,i thought the m3 was a real drivers car and the top of e30 ownership.I know its a droptop but surely it cant be to far behind its tintop brother.
I have now bought the car on condition that i sell mine so hopefully i have done the right thing, but all this drive the car first to see if you like it is cause for a little bit of worry.

Cheers

iam intrigued what he means by evo2 with cat??????????????????

only ever one evo2 engine (original) went into a convertible
special order from bmw
they did not make and evo convertible

the 215 later engine is not an evo engine with a cat on

the evo2 engine only came in evo2s

I am going for the m3 if my car sells.
The owner told me it has the standard 215bhp with cat motor.
I am not that clued up on M3s this will be a big learning curve for me.

Thanks to all for all the advice :D

Looks good let me know how you get on are you still going to have a look at her on Saterday.
I am only putting the Motorsport on the zone so if she does not go she will be staying and keeping my 6 company.
I just like the look of that m3 convertible shes pulling at the heart strings.
