If you can prove it has been rebuilt and gas tested.

Sure are, I spoke to alot of people before parting with that sort of money.
Ian at Linwar was very helpful and my mechanic spoke to him before I bought the head.
Mechanic said it looked brand new when he took it out of the box

I bought mine from them as well last summer. Two months later a valve seat came loose and got smashed between the valve and the piston ruining the engine in the process.calypsocab wrote:Sure are, I spoke to alot of people before parting with that sort of money.

Luckily they gave me another head and some new valves and a full gasket set etc for free but I had to get another bottom end myself. Dips from came to the rescue on that one.
Ive done all the work myself and hope to get it 99% finished this weekend.
Fingers crossed yours is ok as is the 2nd one they gave me.

Mechanic has said that it will get less noisy wit time as at the mo its very tappety if you no what I mean.
Everyone is telling me to take it easy for at least a couple of hundred miles.
Any advice will be appreciated as spent nearly 2k on it in the last 4 wks

I know how you feel as I have spent well over a grand in parts and have done all the labour myself.
Mine was no noisier than it was on the old head. What kind of oil are you using? I put in some cheap and nasty oil for the first 50 miles and then some Magnatec 10W40.
I drove mine easy for the first 300 miles and then normal afterwards but Ive been told it wasnt really necessary seeing nothing on the bottom end was changed and therefore didnt need to bed in.
I think its better to be safe though.

Thanks mate, the cars had an Insp 2 aswell as having the the head work & gearbox serviced & cambelt cahnge. I will double check but I think he said Castrol (will check).
Graham from Ernigrip Motors done all the work & I'm pleased.
He also looks after my bruv Guss's car & Maxsus's Alpina (nice cab).
Seems to be getting a little quiter now.
Guss's is really trying not to sell his if he can however sometimes these things happen.
I have also been thinking is it time to sell
I know I will never find one like this again esp on an L plate and in Calypso if I let it go
