OK, I picked up a 1990 e30 325i Auto convertible at the weekend, and I have a question about the electrics.

When it is really cold, and I start the car, the Battery and the Brake pad warning light stay on until I lightly touch the accelerator. After this they stay off.

Also, I always get a check for the brake lights, hit check then the brake and it goes off. Then at some random time interval afterwards, generally when signalling or turning lights on, the brake light check appears again.

Any Ideas?

brake light normal opp. it does it until u make the curcuit connection, so u know it works,

the line of lights on the dash should go out straight after turning over, but iԚ´ve see this before also on mine.

but as u say, only when its freezin

as for the brake warning coming back on, i would say it would be a question for SirBrian

re-reading yours, if you are starting engine with lights on, this can cause a light on the check box to go, i get it on my licence plate marker. if i switch off lights, cut engine and then turn over again it will be out

after i found out why it was on, i dont switch on my lights untill the car is on,.

also, the check panel wont reset until u swich off the engine/electrics..which drove me nuts too until i found that out
