right... obviously as most of you know i crashed my old car which has a custom exhust which was on there for a week, (front section on less then a day)
ive called up RSR tryes,, to get it refitted on the new car,,
though now they saying that cos its being transferred, they wont transfer the garentee,
what the hell is the point of this? is this not the biggest load of rubbis,,, if they are refutting it, there workman ship is still valid? their parts are still valid? how the hell does it void garentee??
is it me or most exhaust mechanics are fools!? so far two different branches, all the same old shit...
anyone know a reliable powerflow distrubuter who will be able to regarentee my exhaust, cos forking out 500 odd quid and loosing the garentee over stupid things is not something i wanna do..
cheers guys,, rant over...
note to kos... ur guy in st albans be able to do this????

"original purchaser garentee:
this is ti certify that the powerflow products fitted by the above approved dealer are hereby guarenteed against any defects in materials or perforation by corrosion for the duration of the original purchasers owernership of the vehicle to which they are fitted. this garentee applied to the stainless steel components only. all welding and workmanship is guarenteed by the above approved dealer. we do not hold ourselves responsible for accidental damage or breakages resulting from abnormal use or poor behicle maintainance. the vehicle must be inspected every year with a 21 day grace period and this garentee card endorsed by an approved powerflow representative to validate the gaurentee. this garentee is not transferable"
ok fair enough so i cant move it to another car.... but still... nothing i can do about it?? i mean cant they just write out a new garentee form ??

That sounds like rubbish but it might be right. My first 318i had a powerflow full system on it and when I crashed it i got them to transfer the exhaust system over to the 316i that i got and i still kept the lifetime waranty thing.

Nope, i was just a standard customer. The only way they knew me was that they fitted it to the car i had before. They charged me around Ԛ£40 to do it though!

Hmm, well the guys at "Wallace Performance" in Aberdeen have a bad rep but they were ok with me. Think they had to cut it and weld it to make it bigger for the system to fit on. Though Ԛ£40 was reasonable. Ԛ£60 seems a bit much. Could you swap the manifolds and downpipes and do it yourself? Then you wouldn't have to cut anything. I hate doing exhausts though. They are a pain in the butt so I dont blame you not wanting to.

tried swapping downpipes,,, i tryed getting the down pipe off,,,,, 3 of the 4 bolts came off,,,, then the 4th one packed up,,,,
and the manifold,,, well whats involved with swapping over the manifold?? would i have to remove part of the engine to reach it? i think think it comes out from the bottom does it?? is so then this is an option!

Hmm, well i hate doing exhausts as i said. Erm, dont know if there is much to removing the manifold in theory....however they are meant to be a right bi*ch for the studs on the manifold snapping so im not exactly sure if it is an easy job.

right just got off the phone,, made for some interesting conversation.... the manager of the company.. says... (after me telling him numerous people are unhappy and being a member of a vw and bmw forum) he has never heard anyone say anything wrong or bad about the exhausts, after i told him i was recommended not to get one but still tried my luck,, he said those who tiddle taddle, as he puts it,, online should call in to let us know whats happening...
right..... numbers 02086456611 u wanna speek to mike the manager.
the beuaty obviously is the fact that RSR blames powerflow,,, as its a powerflow warrenty, even though its rsr workmanship? he reckons my exhaust will be fine in the long run,,, with or without a warrenty,, though surface rusting is very apparent already,,, its hardly see any usage!
general summer of experience,,,, dont go powerflow,,,, unless you know WHO u are dealing with,, like a recommended branch etc,,, though this is what i done, and still got bent over...

Heard that only the boxes on powerflow systems are stainless and the link pipes are normal. cos one of my mates ststems rotted away! Never had this problem with mine though. Thought mine was rather good, just too loud!
