your RRFPR - where from/how much.

the MS Guru tells me i'll need 4 bar of fuel with my 30lb injectors.

i know i don't need the RR bit, but i do need an adjustable one.

A company called 800bhp of ebay, bloke called John, it was about Ԛ£60 or so, and was the main part of stage 0.5, before we spunked cash on MS.

Hopefully later this week, just waiting on the tubby to arrive, I seem to have all the other bits now, so just a few hours welding, grinding, blood and sweat to do.

Passenger ride would be cool dude, but this time it should be nearer 400 at the rear wheels, not the 300ish I had a lakeside or the stupid 350 odd (16psi) I was pulling on the way there It started this whole stage 2 off to be fair..... another great ide4a by me, not

Turbo's arrived

Already stripped it down for a clean up and I have to say there is ZERO movement in the shaft, housing came off fine and all looks as it should!!

Yes mate, all good, now has a nice shiney black gloss compressor housing and a half rust free exhaust hausing, taking my time getting that sorted.

Exhaust part is spot on, should work as is with a longer bit welded on

That means I have all the parts, flanges, connections bar some silicon charge pipe connections, so go go go for tomorrow!!!

Been looking at clutches the last few days....think I may need a new one soon

yup picking up my silicon hose today 70mm and 76 mm by 1 metre lenghts and various 90 degree bends in silicon -just need a suitable cooler now.my charge pipe is 2.75 inch polished alloy as seen on gaybay.getting closer .

whats the clearances like on yours ,need to see your pics when your done m8.can we have a fozzycam when you test drive it ..........lol

just out of curiosity wouldnt a t4 been upto the job......got my eyes on one (holset not t4)just incase ,need to pull it in my workshop first!!!!!ever used or thought about ceramic coating for the turbo.

Mark thats a HUGE turbo! defo no spikes!!! see you have an external wastegate thats the same one my mate had on his integra turbo!

is the thing in the photos WG inlet or WG screamer pipe

The short pipe I'm welding is for the wastegate, it is now welded onto the collector and the WG is positioned roughly were Tony's turbo is now.

The screamer pipe will run down under the front arch and exit by the front wheel.

So far today we cut off the GT exhaust flange, welded up a new adapter plate for the new V band flange.

Bar the weather we're making good progress, more piccies to come.

Just need to find a feed off the compressor housing to run the WG, the holset is missing one, so we're going to have to fab one

Jaysus that is a big turbo! How comparable to an HX35 in size?

Possibly nearer a HX40, the wheel sizes are bigger than most HX35, as yet we can only assume this is a cutom order turbo, the housings aren't what most people would expect.

Lag is def, we're thinking 3.5k revs for sppol and full boost @ 4k, so for the first time in a long time I will have some top end again

the inlet feed for these turbos is 6 inch tubing straight into inlet-no ic.
run with no wastegate.full boost around 2.5k .propels its original vehicle via 3 speed auto to 30 mph pulling gross of 50 ton .so its original setup is around 250 plus bhp of a 5.9l straight six diesel!!!!you can feel the boost with a load so for sure it will pull an e30 very very very well!

we will see shortly how this is transmitted into e30 stats!!!!!!!!!!

but if the outcome aint to lairy guess what ill fit next.....lol

It's a bit of an odd compressor size for the H1C and the turbine is pretty large too (larger than most HX35s, more like an HX40). It will be interesting to see the characteristics of the engine.ixer replied this.

just to give others a bit of info.sure mark will have seen these threads.

The H1C or HX35 are great turbos for most stock 'i' engines that aren't looking for insane power that would require lower compression than 'i' stock 8.8:1. Like say 400+ crank hp would require an HX40 and engine bottom-end modifications.

They both usually have a T3 divided entry, couple that with a manifold adapter and separate Tial 38 mm wastegate and it would be enough for a 1-1.5 bar setup. We're talking safe 300 whp with aftermarket ECU (fuel + ignition).
3.5" downpipe and 3" exhaust with a single muffler out the back and you're set on the exhaust side.

done a bit of checking ,sure this is off the 315 hp engine.

note that most UK cars have 9.7:1 compression tho, only cars fitted with cats got 8.8:1 so touring pistons are probly better for turboing

All pre facelift were 9.7:1 and all facelift are 8.8:1

Thanks for clearing that up I didnt know what was exactly just that some were 9.7:1 and newer engines had it lowered, just assumed it was the cats that changed it

thats because the facelifts were cat prepped but not all had a cat fitted.

Is fozzys engine stock appart from the turbo and MS ?

I'm pretty sure it is, I remember talking to him about it last year before he turbod' it. Or wait a sec, isn't it a 2.7?

Engine is std on a fresh HG and well torqued HB.

Only other mods are the upgrades for the fueling and required parts to run this turbo, will be ordering a clutch, uprated bolts & HG soon, will have to be good for a few weeks until thats all fitted.

Todays's been good, downpipes have been altered to accept the V band flange and manifolds had the WG pipe work welded and checked clearence etc.

Just manifold to refit, turbo, downpipes, chargepipe, oil feed, drill the new pressure feed for the wastegate and see what happens
