Having recently got hold of some decent replacement speakers and tweeters (cheers Jamz!), i now wanna install them.

The probs are:

1) are the stock speakers in the mirror units (Nokia's i think) built in or are they supposed to be able to come out of the unit? I have tried but didn't want to destroy the unit so thought i should ask first before i REALLY get stuck in.

2) The footwell speakers seem virtually impossible to get to. What exactly do i need to do to get to them? Is it the same for the driver and passsenger side?

Thanks in advance for any help! :-)

i think the tweeter pods are built into the surround - others usually hack out the tweeter and replace it cause replacements usually have a surround which will hide it.

As for the footwell speakers - a couple of screws, and remove the door rubber - the cover should then come off. Passenger is the same - but you have to unbolt the bonnet catch and slide the cover out from under it.

Hey,No probs..

Well quaser is right regarding yer footwell speakers, not much to it at all,30 min job both sides max..

As for yer speaker pods, you can get the nokia tweeters out as i had to do with mine about a week ago... takes a bit to get em out but it can be done...just use a scredriver on the inside only and twist the screwdriver between the tweeter and plastic..do bit at a time both sides and it will losen... dont destroy the actual tweeter grill as then you would have to find another the exact size...grill and tweeter are seperate conponents so again,it can be done... the ones i gave yer i smaller than the stock nokia's but will propoably sound better as there alpine's,but if you leave em in their surrounds they will fit with a bit of glue..
