Hi all I have a problem.
On normal short trips my car runs lovely. However, I went to Stansted airport the other day. Got to about 20miles away and I start getting a loss of power. At first I put it down to the wind until I slowed down at a roundabout, went to accelerate forward and nothing happened. A few short dabs on the accelerator got it going again.

Came home last night and the car was doing exactly the same thing again. I've worked out that if I dip my clutch and blip the engine, then raise the clutch it's fine for a few more miles before it starts doing it again.

The car's a 316i M40

Can anyone help?

Give the air hose btween the air filter and the engine a thorough inspection for splits and cracks.

Oooh spot on. Just been out there and seen a nice crack in the hose. Hope that sorts it. Thanks m8 :)
