hi just had a new hood fitted whats the best thing to put on it to protector it from the start as it will help keeping it clean a bit easyer thanks

Not sure about the keeping it cleaner...
I use Auto glym hood cleaner, but I always use a good spray for tents/awnings from the camping shop for waterproofing.

Always seems to work much better than any car waterproofer I have used.

Watch what yer putting on yer hood,you might not see it on a dark car but using tent protector isnt exactly nice to yer paint work..

When it runs of yer roof in the rain,its going over yer nice paint work... just a lil food for thought..

I too started to use tent/canvas protector and found it putting nice marks on the paintwork which im sure if left would of give me a bit of grief,my cars light so they stood out..

i stopped using it..go for the AutoGlym cleaner&Protector,thats what i use and it seems to work..

TBH look for proper Soft-Top protector cuz most of em should be friendly to yer paint.. dont just use any protector from a comping shop..

Well as you can see,it was being a biatch on my glass too..

Worked wonder though dont get me wrong but i wont be using it again..prolly too many chemicals in there for my new paint job..

I have just had a new hood fitted and questioned the fitter who has been doing it for 30 years and asked the same queston and he said that no chemicals should be used and if you get bird shit or any other detrious on it go over it with a high pressre washer as the proofing is all in the weave,,,definately do not aggresively brush it off as it will leave a mark,,,,I quote
